The Burning Glass

The Burning Glass share true stories with their audiences in a unique style using electric guitar, bass, tuned percussion ukulele and drums. They play songs that make you want to dance with lyrics that explore everything from existential philosophy to the ‘raw food’ movement and wildlife conservation.
Edwin Brooks, a poet songwriter and organic vegetable grower writes the songs. He formed the band with his cousin Kizzy Brooks and they are joined by musicians from wildly different backgrounds, the brightest talents of Bristol’s jazz and swing scenes teaming up with two of the UK’s leading orchestral percussionists, with other members drawn from the worlds of psychedelic rock and theatre and clowning.
The band have a cult following from UK festivals and are working on their third album due for 2023.
