We open our eyes to inner and outer worlds with the new exhibition “The Only Way Out is Through” by El Grecova.
Join us for the opening night with music performance of Navin Larriba on 8th March 2023 at 7.30 pm.
‘The Only Way Out is Through’ is her first solo exhibition exploring inner and outer worlds in altered states of consciousness. Under a world of self-assertions, over-valued words, greed and ego, there is an underlying layer of clarity, iridescent colours and appreciation for life with all its treasures. This layer is as real as the world above and it constantly wants to unveil its powers and to be seen. These paintings are a fragment of the layer manifesting themselves to the world above.
Her art is based on complementary opposites. During the day it’s led by a brain driven adult, who delves into psychology, symbolism and spirituality and quotes Huxley way too much. At night, her inner child takes her to dreamy, magical worlds where imagination is the greatest weapon.
Her influences are a mixture of cartoons; M.C Escher, Crash Bandicoot and Carl G. Jung’s psychological theories brewed together in a magical cauldron by a village druid Getafix.
She manages to ethically source materials, buy second hand, use biodegradable packaging, up- cycle and print on recycled paper.
With every purchase, 10% of profit will be donated to the animal charity supported by Jam in a Jar.

El Grecova is a self-taught artist with a whimsical imagination and a great love of nature. Born in Slovakia, she moved away before she was 20 to taste a life of independence, adventure and to carve her own way in this world. Only after hitting and missing my other callings, 5 years ago she re-discovered passion for painting and colour – my true obsession since early age.
Her art, like almost everything in this world, is based on complementary opposites. During the day it’s led by a brain driven adult, who delves into psychology, symbolism and spirituality and quotes Huxley way too much. At night, my inner child takes me to dreamy, magical worlds where imagination is the greatest weapon.
